You can’t save them all. But YOU CAN stop the cycle. In the U.S. 1 cat or dog is euthanized every 15 seconds. Invest in spay neuter, it’s the only solution.

6.5 million dogs and cats enter shelters each year

1 dog or cat is euthanized every 15 seconds in a shelter

$800 = the average cost to shelter a dog or cat

$125 = the average cost to spay or neuter a dog or cat

You do the math.

About Howl Meow

Howl Meow is a USA non-profit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to supporting safe, efficient, and effective spay/neuter programs in the U.S. and Mexico. We are on a mission to end the overpopulation of unwanted dogs and cats on our planet. We want to put an end to euthanizing healthy, adoptable pets as a solution to this problem and reduce populations of feral and free-roaming dogs and cats through greater access to spay/neuter. We are starting in our backyard, the United States.

From Around The Country… My First Interview of Progressive Spay and Neuter Thinkers

When I first started my research to figure out how to go about doing spay-neuter in a much greater way worldwide, as you might imagine, I was a bit overwhelmed and not at all sure where to start. So I decided to take a step back and start a little closer to my home which is near Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have a human population of about 700,000 in the greater area and about 30,000 dogs and cats entering our shelters and rescues here.

Houston, We Have A Problem

New Mexico has just as big a problem as Houston, if not bigger. And New Mexicans need to care enough to save their own homeless pets, because no one is watching us like they are watching Houston. At least for now.

Whoo is Howl Meow?

It has been over 150 years since the first dog pounds appeared in America. Dogs and cats were rounded up and killed just because they had no monetary value. America does not need dog pounds anymore. Why? Because we value our pets – both dogs and cats. Americans will spend #86 billion this year,in America alone, on their pets!
